
Heidi Watney (born May 19, 1981) is an American sportscaster who is reporter for Apple TV+. Her experience with sportscasting includes stints at the University of San Diego, New England Sports Network (Boston), Time Warner Cable SportsNet (Los Angeles) as well as two stations in Fresno. Watney attended Clovis West High School in Fresno where she competed in gymnastics, hurdles, diving and cheerleading. 1 She was an National Merit Scholar. She was accepted into the University of San Diego with an academic scholarship. In 2003 she graduated with top distinction. [2] Watney was a contestant at the Miss California USA pageant, which she won as the first winner in 2002. Watney is the daughter of professional golfer Nick Watney. Seven years ago, Andy Weir, author of The Martian science fiction novel has stated that Watney was his first name, and he created the character Mark Watney from it.
