Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in Havana, Cuba. The family moved to Miami after she reached two years old. The actress was raised in Havana Cuba Ana moved to Miami at the age of 2 years old and was accompanied with her parents. Born in Habana, Cuba, Ana Maria Polo is host of renowned Telemundo program "Caso Cerrado" which was the first Spanish show to be nominated an Daytime Entertainment Emmy(r) Award, and it was named the top Spanish-language show on the air at 4pm in the key demos. Polo was born on April 11 of 1959 Havana, Cuba and went on to study at Florida International University, where she earned a bachelor's diploma in politics and sciences. Later, she received her PhD qualification in law from the University of Miami. Following that, she received her PhD in Law at the University of Miami. Polo was first exposed to the public via television in 2001 through Telemundo's show Sala de Parejas (2001) and other shows on courts where her legal expertise was tapped. Literature Works and Accolades Her 1958 novel Los Hijos Muertos won her both the Critic Prize and the Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute emigrated to the United States after leaving Spain in 1960. Breast cancer survivors, Polo frequently gives speeches and helps raise money for the charity. In her long career, she has fought in the fight for LGBT equality. She has a law degree of the University of Miami School of Law as well as an Florida Bar Member.
